This is great news!
Yeah, that leaf texture looks higher than 64x64. I wouldn't be surprised if actually it is something like 4 64x64 16 color textures matching together in a floor made of many tris.
Rare already did it in walls for JFG and DK64.
These are 4 64x64 16 color textures that make a 128x128 with +50 colors!

aheum....how did they manage mipmap with those 4x(64x64xCI4) ?
Because it seem they added them somehow. Those textures don't flicker when far. Or else
I remember I did try 64x64xCI4 once, and totally forgot about that because of flickering issue... _________________ Listen to me
