So I've been playing with the set up editor and I'm very confused about the water. How does the game know when a surface is water? How would I go about adding water to my tracks? |

You can use texture 05, and that works and the texture type can choose type if were A, B etc, see latest beta for names. The other images for water don't work yet. I think something additional in the background file. It's on my list to figure out in the coming weeks. |

Thanks for the response! Could you explain what you mean by "texture type"? By texture 05, do you mean the image in the dkrromimagesfull folder named tempImgEd0005? I can put that texture on water in existing levels and it still works, but if I add it to a surface in my level it still acts like normal ground. |

You have the right image. You also need to set water bitflags under replace texture dialog for all the water texture, by checking out existing water in a a level. Also in edit portals, you can edit textures type and change to style of water. |

Really looking forward to seeing what all you've come up with. Diddy Kong Racing definitely deserves some more custom content. |

Thanks! I agree, it's such a great game. I feel like N64 in general is lacking in custom content outside of Mario 64.
So far this is the biggest thing I've made. It's very sloppy, but right now I'm just focusing on learning to use the editor before I worry about making things look pretty. This is my first attempt at something like this, but I'm having a lot of fun with it and I aim to eventually make something worth playing. |

It's certainly a very nice start. And as MRKane mentioned, things will only get better as you progress. |
