To people who worked hard on their rom hacks, there this illegal site called Vintex64 that people from there stole some hard work from the rom hacks and selling them illegally
It can go up to any price like 100 dollars or more. Someone
warned me about this site and I thought warning everyone
would help.
PS: I'm on via mobile and please be careful when posting rom hacks, thank you.

Well, how would you password-protect them anyway?
Once the rom is out, if it works on hardware, what exactly prevents it from running from a flashed repro?
The only thing that I can think of to try to hurt these dubious "businesses" is to include on the ROM itself something to warn players.
Such as: "This game/hack was made by so and so and provided at no charge. If you paid for it, you've been scammed"
Something along these lines.
What else can you REALLY do? |

If we want to stop repros, we could try figuring out differences between ED64/64Drive and repro carts, then do something to make the hack break on repros.

Zoinkity mentioned writing a routine to do just this, and I'm sure he incorporated it into his English translation of Densha de Go! 64. Does anyone know if his version of Densha de Go! 64 was ever put onto a cartridge (not a flash cartridge like an Everdrive 64 or a 64Drive) but still worked? |
