The name of the new IO Interactive game with the Bond License has been revealed and a date has been set for the game reveal too.

I didn't know this! Thanks for posting it! I have to say that the character has a very Brosnan vibe... _________________ No Mr. Bond, I expect you to be re-coded! |

Oh great, another "Let's make it an interactive movie, make the main character young enough to attract the kids, and prioritize set-pieces and third person action above the first person shooting that forms the majority of most of the popular Bond games" production. At least that's the impression that the trailer seems to want to convey.
On the plus side, the trailer could just be guilty of concentrating on the set-pieces and plot review, and missing out on showing the great gameplay that the game has. I really hope so, as I both really want another great Bond game, and I've never been so bored with the video gaming industry as I have been for the past few years, it all feels so stagnant and even determined to just put out generic rubbish, so I really hope 007 Fight Light bucks the trend.
Ona tangent (and a moan!), it's been seven years since the new Bioshock game was announced, and so far there hasn't been even one screenshot released, let alone a video. System Shock 3 was announced years back too, and that seems dead now. Batman: Arkham Shadows was released (and apparently is really good, and a couple of my mates really love it) but virtual reality gives me a headache*, so I can't play it.
* This makes me appreciate how lucky I am not to have the motion sickness that stops some people from playing first person shooters. |

Do you know of the modern Hitman games? It's also by IOI, and I can see the carried over Hitman movement (the vaulting and crouch-walking and cover takedowns). Because of that, there's a good chance it'll have the open-ended nature of those games, which will be a very welcome change of pace from the usual cover-shooter Bond fare. It won't be like GoldenEye, but individual missions will likely be easily replayable and have multiple ways to do them.
That's how it seems to me, anyway. I'm aware I'm speculating, but I got a good feeling about it. _________________

Oh, I certainly hope that you're right. But nowadays I have zero confidence in the gaming industry, and not just with video gaming - it does seem as if since Covid came around, the world has become much more miserable and disappointing.
Oh well, the new Bond game could be really good, I'm just not exactly full of optimism. |

My guess on the gameplay is that it will be a cross between Hitman and how games like Everything or Nothing or FRWL played back in the day. _________________ Also known as Spyster or Nyxem

Yeah, the presentation yesterday talked about that. It's still gonna have that open-ended "here's your goal, here's some suggested paths, figure it out" gameplay, but with the consideration that Bond is a smooth talker. He could talk his way through the front door, they said as an example. They also mentioned the combat can be a more viable way forward than in Hitman games. Makes me wonder how the enemy AI will be... They were good at swarming you, but could be easily cheesed in certain rooms, so I wonder how they will address that. _________________
