 |
|
Now that there's a final or near-final candidate of Viewpoint 2064 archived, here's a patch to translate its cutscenes into English:
https://mega.nz/file/wmgTnAaD#NVxSCI8VdRFlqcHPEXLXyojZpevOhORy6WpYhXd6tqM
This patch applies to the 1999/4/13 build, not the earlier prototype! There's already a release for that.
[edit]In a sudden bout of dyslexia consistently wrote "1999/4/17" instead of "1999/4/13". Aegh...
If you played the earlier prototype, 1) the stages in this one are complete, 2) the options don't crash the game, 3) hit detection is sane, 4) all five endings, epilogue, and credits are accessible, and 5) half of the intro and spatterings of other cutscenes were redone so it isn't highly contradictory. Not the best game but not a bad game. |

Sire, thank you! I'd not even read that another build dropped until this!
Curiously the filesize halves?? Thank you massively again!! EDIT: On the readme now but yeh always use DeltaPatcher for matching _________________

Is there invincibility to be had? Since life lost starts it over. I remember the last proto was see-all can freeplay in essence
I made first left route Table Top got to grasshopper boss and so crushing. Now on lives lost on continue the whole stage resets! _________________

Yes, to apply you'll need a version of xdelta (or same) made in the last decade--one that supports secondary compression.
Could have reduced the filesize to 0xD4E730, that's where data ends.
Could reduce it a whole lot more swapping out their absolutely daft "arithmetic LZ77" nonsense with sane compression.
Afraid there's no invincibility hashed out for it yet. It has only been a few days after all. Only played it once through; tested cutscenes by swapping the intro via debugger.
It could really benefit from sticking movement on d-pad, aiming on stick, Z for shot and L for wave cannon. It's really a gallery shooter, though maybe that's not all that obvious? |

That's truly fantastic! I remember discussing things a ton with the guy who had the first Viewpoint beta that was released, and to have a near-final drop is a true gem!
Want to know something funny? I've not had the time to play either yet... _________________ No Mr. Bond, I expect you to be re-coded! |
