http://web.archive.org/web/20020719022838/www.barlow89.freeserve.co.uk/ARHQ/n64codes/goldeneye/Multienemy.html

Can someone help? I thought id have a go at enemy in mulitplayer as i sounds fun, but the codes theyve given are one digit shorter than the amount of code i have on my AR.

For example They give 12 digits per line:

8018A36B 0009
8018A371 0019
8018A373 0010
8018A37D 0008
8018A37E 00FF

But my AR page has 13 digits per line:

00000000 00000

So I dont know how to put input these codes. Would i just enter the code into the first twelve digits and then leave a "0" at the end of the line?

Another question. Do you know which ones in these lines are the XX, YY and ZZ digits as if you know them u can modify the enemys behaviour.

cheers

Yeah, the slowdown is natural. You'd need to make some further modifications to the stage setup, which can be done via GS/AR codes, in order to improve the framerate. Since there is no path network for them to follow, the game slows to a crawl trying to compute the information. It goes into a loop until the character dies, or it temporarily corrects itself - though that only lasts until you see them again.

You can do it with the setup editor, keeping path presets, and there won't be slowdown (unless you put a lot of guards up). But with GS codes, not likely.

Ah right thanks guys. So can you have lots (multiple) enemies in multi? Sounds awesome. Although to be honest in terms of modifying the stage setups and stuff i think thats all probably too far above the range of my exceedingly limited abilites.

On another note, these codes are awesome!! For the first time in ten years ive been able to play this game and choose whatever guns i wanted!! Its awesome using the shotgun and phantom, and silenced deusteche and silver pp7 in multi! Cool Cheers for those links.

i want to play some ntsc maps on my pal game.

http://goldeneyeforever.goldeneyehacks.com/train.html

i found this method on the arhq site:

Quote:

**ANOTHER METHOD***

Finally the millions (AND MILLIONS... hahaha) of readers of this FAQ have been
told FoxDie's secret porting method of choice. This method is called 'Comparison Hacking'.
This is done for porting codes from NTSC to PAL (or visa-versa). This is done by
comparing two RAM dumps to find codes. It is by far the most effective way of porting
but cannot be used on all occasions.

Comparison hacking can be done with emulators or AR/GS 3.2's. I will explain how to
do this process with AR/GS's as I have no experience with emulators.

Firstly the 3.2 must be set up to your PC through a 25 Pin M-F lead. Then the N64
utilities need to be installed.

When you are in game with code generator on, choose a still area of the game and hit
pause. Then choose 'Unknown search' (making sure 80000000-80400000 is displayed) on your
PC. This will give you your first RAM dump.

Next comes the hard bit. Get a friend in the region that has codes you want to
convert. Get them to take a RAM dump at the same point as you took yours and get them to send
it you.

Then you need to download a Hex-editing program (For example, Hew Workshop,
http://www.bpsoft.com). Use 'Find' on your computer and search for Train001.bin. You should
find two of these (one from your friend and the one you took).

==============================================================================================
TIP...... If using Hex Workshop, click Options/Preferences and click the layout tab. Set
rows to '8' and Group by '1 (byte)'. This will make Hex Workshop look just like the Memory
Editor on your AR.
==============================================================================================

Open these files in your Hex Editing program and click 'Goto'. Insert the code you
want to convert (don't include the values and substitute the first two digits of the code to
zeros). Then copy down all values on the row of said code, and go to your regions RAM dump.
Click 'Find' to search for these values and (hopefully) you will find them. Write down the
address of the value that corresponds with the other code and you will get your code (Make
sure you put the first two digits back on and the value from the original)!!!!

is it possible to convert the train level with this method?
i want to use an emulator for that because i don´t have a gs with working port and i don´t know anybody who have a ntsc game.

Unfortunatley tho this code only works with Action Replay version 3.3 Professional. Sadly I have a 3.2, but I am still able to get most of the codes from this link. Dam and Aztec are awesome.

Incidentally for someone that knows, it says that on levels surface and jungle that player 1's screen flickers. Does anyone know how badly this flickering is? Cos if its reaaaally bad then maybe theres no point playing it right?
