Since you've changed his suit, you've taken out the need to load in not only that character model, but all required textures. That helps immensely in a situation like this. I'd still suggest adding an extra twenty to fifty points onto the '-mt' texture memory allocation, just to cover yourself. Even the normal Surface missions can suffer texture errors, such as messed up ammunition icons and three-faced enemies. _________________

i am actually trying to avoid using the 21990 editor for this mission because i like the fog and sky the way it is and if i use the 21990 editor it will mess it up i think i will just try to stick to cloning and reusing objects to avoid a problem like that from arising _________________ "We have always found the Irish a bit odd, They refuse to be English" Winston Churchill

I'm not sure why or how the weather (sky and fog) would be altered by modifying the memory allocations for a level with the Editor. Just make sure you don't change anything in those fields. Only increase the Surface ii's '-mt' value, nothing else. And if you're still not confident enough to trust it, just save your newly edited ROM under a different name. Your original will be untouched, allowing you to try out the updated one. If there is a problem, you can go back to using your other ROM. So long as you have that backup, nothing can really go wrong. Give it a shot and see what happens. _________________

I Checked it and yes it did ruin the sky and caused that horrible sky glitch that happens in frigate and all outdoor levels i think i should really only stick to using the 21990 editor for indoor levels like my next one after Nitro Surface _________________ "We have always found the Irish a bit odd, They refuse to be English" Winston Churchill

Well, I don't know what could be happening, since I don't have access to any GE related stuff right now. But it sounds like something with the weather blocks is off. Perhaps they're being written an incorrect value, due to an issue with your version of the Editor. SubDrag may need to look into this and see what's going on with it. _________________

That problem with the sky is a plugin issue, Jabo's plugin can't render the clouds properly and draws a "hall of mirrors" effect instead. It has nothing to do with the game, and can easily be fixed by going to Settings -> Video Settings -> ROM Settings and changing Direct3D Clear Mode to "Always". The reason this happens is that when you use the 21990 editor, you make enough changes to the game that the emulator no longer recognizes it as GoldenEye, and stops using the correct settings for that game (Which is also why you need to set them manually for most hacked missions.).
If you use Rice or Glide64 Napalm you'll get an actual sky, since those plugins can display it (Rice's display is incorrect, but it's still better than a black void/HOM). |

Another way to 'fix' the issue, is to deactivate the clouds from the weather block. By turning them off, the sky will no longer act up. It's a cheap and simple solution. However, if you're using a better plug-in, such as Glide64's Napalm, the clouds that you'd normally see would be gone. Also, if playing the custom ROM on a backup device, you'd experience a lack of clouds, as well. It is sort of a trade-off, really. Releasing two versions in the same package would be ideal. One with clouds, one without. The person could choose which IPS Patch to use, depending on their setup. It's a very easy thing to do, but that's ultimately your decision. _________________
