Has anyone heard of throwing the books as weapons in goldeneye? The books from the surface level. I had heard rumor of this but it may not be true or maybe there is a mod for it? It would be fun to mess with anyway Wink

Lol you can't throw books as weapons.

But i think you can throw them if you edit a mine model into a book.

then you can throw it.

Or do the same but with a nife.

And it will be a killing book.

This all can be done in the Goldeneye editor.

Goldeneye editor? I have that and have only used it for adding modded levels and the new Goldeneye X release. Would this be a simple thing to do? Is there a certain tutorial that I should follow to do this?

The way to make a "book" a weapon would be to create a weapon model for it in the editor. You could make like the throwing knife or a mine(for even more fun.)

From here you would then need to have a sound effect, a reload animation, a watch image, etc. etc. I'm not too keen with working with models for GoldenEye, I'm more just the guy who messes with the game's textures Razz

The way i been hering from Wreck is.

Its very hard if you don't know what you doing.

And replaceing a mine or a nife is very hard to and then one you done that you need to add the stuff like NapalmNero sed.

And then it may not work out. You may need to change the cord like X Y Z
and make it fit in the hand. I think thats how it go.

Well its tuff and one you get it done its very cool to see what it looks like in your hand killing bad guys with a book lol.

You'd need to actually change the model type of the book in order for it to be held by characters. It'll likely just crash if you attempt to replace the throwing knife prop with the book. It's not that hard to do, but you really do have to know what you're doing. Any prop could be replaced with something else, if you want it bad enough. The actual first-person model that displays in your physical hand and in the watch inventory... that's totally different.

heh, literature is really dangerous, baby.
Now I understand why nazies burned books: They were afraid people would use them as a WMD against them.

I see. Unfortunately, I don't have much knowledge of this. Maybe I will learn as time goes on and try to make mods for the game.. Yeah, I see how it could be very different from the start screen to in game play. Would it be easier if the book was not visible before it was thrown like a knife? So it would just seem like it was being thrown from the chest or something? lol.
