Hi, I always had difficulties with those things. Never been capable to see modified objectives or text concerning the missions.

No time for gadgets here, 007. Just improvise with what you can find close to hand.*

I modified a text in runway to put a french sentence and I saw:

Fait attentiÿÿÿà la ÿÿésence des gardes, James. *

In english: Pay attention to guards

That sentence by the last sentence above--->Grace under pressure, as always, James*

What should I do after I would have finished? I followed the tutorial and it does nothing.

Create a .text file for entering the right text of the level?

Export file Uncompressed to a folder. When I open briefing text I select my level and I do not see my new text among many files.

If I change the background,Qbranch etc in the .text file, I do not see it when starting the converted rom. I notice there are 2 sames sentences in each level texts.

0000 to 0003 and 000B to 000E are the same sentences in the text editor.

I tried only to modified 0000 to 0003 and I did not see the changes during playing.

Then I started again now just with modifing 000B to 000E and nothing worked.

After restarting again, I made the same sentences with 0000-0003 and 000B=000E and nothing again!

Those 3 files should be in a folder either in new levels folder.

After modifications I need to replace the original .bin by the new with the same name.


I really hate that GE for unworking things! Just a stupid non understandable editor.

Nothing works so yesterday I made a lot of time to make a control level. A lot of time to make tinted windows. I made an intro camera and I was not capable to make ourumov reappear anywhere after using fades and diseappear. He disappeared at first but if I use fade out from cutscene he will be absent form the level.

I though using random byte but did not use.

Or simply makes ourumov disappear using the intro camera and reappear to another place using a second intro camera.

Last night, I tried the technic to find how close is Bond from an object, by following subdrag`s tutorial, with a very simple level and how would you make an object talk? FD,F8(crashed the editor).

I have also seen during my new control level the same problem I had when starting the level either it was the intro camera who was incorrect or the C3 text from an action block to a guard I had to remove to make the level works.

After I was not capable to delete a preset by creating a path. Tried to remove the path with no results. Nothing was linked but I know how to link.

Now Sad stupid newbie problems!!!!!!!!!Just want to give up.

Even though I would like to make it simple, nothing works

C'est normal que ça bugge pour ta traduction, les caractères accentués ne sont pas inclus dans le jeu, donc soit tu insères, soit tu écris sans accents.

C'est pour cela que tu as des "ÿÿÿ".

Oui mais subdrag parle de changer les caractères dans les modifications 21990.

Yes but Subdrag is talking about changing caracters in the 21990 modification.


Moi je vais plutôt écrire en anglais car et réduire la fréquence de changement des réglages. C`est assez difficile à comprendre comme cela.

Je préfère garder la rom en anglais donc je n`aurai pas besoin de me casser la tête encore.

I prefer to let the rom in english so I will not need to brake my brain yet.

Il y a trop de désavantages dans ton patch français.

I made text for bunker 1. A very simple level to include the base of the tecnic to modify the stage title(name of the level), background,M briefing,Q branch and Moneypenny. To see new sentences during the play when I open the level. The problem is I made few modifications like I will show you and I do not see the changes. Ourumov is in front of me guarding a door.

He must say his sentence but nothing. And a loading problem I have who avoid me to check if my things work. Eternally Aries and me are finding a solution but for me, yesterday evening I tried so much without success.

When you fit your text with the real level and you exit, you have to start again. No opening and Ah nice It stayed there.

Here is LseV display text. I made a copy aside from the real but your tutorial said to me use the real name and I will loose the original things forever. I have seen this morning there are backup files:

GE Setup Files NTSC Backup etc...

I can stop the text there because when I go see ourumov, he says his things and mine and the rest is not useful.

I just added a hello to introduce a dialog. So the right display text with the right level!

And finally for the briefing, objective Modifier. I can find my sentences into but in briefing text editor I cannot. Export only, not import,save.

UsetupsevbunkerZ, I can open it BUT UbriefsevbunkerZ makes the editor crashes when trying to open it.

Convert Rom in tools, I do not understand anything.

I should have a ubrief file, usetup file and the text file.

Write Above Files in Main folder to Rom: It adds the files in the folder, not in the connverted rom. It is maybe the reason why I see fronts in my PJ64 rom folder.

The other things just ?

Thanks a lot if you can solve those things, it is tho ones I spent so much times onto.


Subdrag: Briefing you edit in briefing editor, it picks up from your main folder the files, you can see name as you scroll there, you don't import it, it just picks from folder, but the text is just part of level's text. Just put in main folder the files, and select ones you want (same names), then click convert ROM and it'll put into ROM.

OK in the same folder like in the editor. Do not forget if I take the same name, the computer will ask me if I want to change and replace it so I will loose the original text. I can make two different files from the same and pick the number 2 in the following example:

LseV--> LseV(2)

LseV and LseV(2)


Does the text will work if I just make a small scenario and just keep the part of the text and erase the other?

The scenario stops to Bond dialog: Just tell me when

And I can open a setup file and a text editor with the editor not a UbriefsevbunkerZ file or editor will crashes.

Last thing in convert ROM:

1.Write above files in Main folder to Rom

2.Add uncompressed file to rom (insert compressed)

3.Add uncompressed file to Rom at predefined location(insert compressed)

The number one will write the modifications in the main folder of the rom but not in the rom? I will see what kind of written thing in the folder?

Number 2 will add the file directly into the rom and I need to compress my setup to use it?

Number 3 is the same like the last but at a predefined location, not in the rom folder but in the editor or elsewhere.

Just specify me.

Once you click write ROM, any selected, pulled from main folder of editor will be written to ROM. As an alternative, 21990 is easier to do individually, add them, then click write ROM
