Is there any way to do that? In this case it is .v64 files. I am asking if there is any way to view every image that is compiled in one file to make a game. It is basically a whole bunch of pictures together in a game, so it must be many files made into an executable. |

Perhaps better stated in the Revolution section:
Quote: | Since you mentioned it a lot, how do you edit the Goldeneye file? I don't imagine it's just one big file, i thing it's .jpg s and .dat s and stuff compiled into one. Like they might design a gun and make that a small file and a building and stuff and put it together. Like when you install something on a pc it goes from setup.exe to many files in different folders. |
So, can there be a PC version of Goldeneye that would not need an emulator? If so, how hard would it be? |

Yes, it's possible. There is a way to do that. I don't know too much about it, but I'm sure the hackers like Wreck, Subdrag, and Zoinkitty could help you out. I think Subdrag and the Rare Witch Project would be your best bet. Here's a link to the site:
rarewitchproject.com
This site can edit the graphics and textures in a Goldeneye cartridge, so I'm sure they could do it with a rom much more easily. I believe this is where the uploader for Citadel came from.
Edit: Crap, I just noticed the site's down. It says Coming Soon, which is weird because it's not new. Maybe they are restarting it or something. |

Well, they took all the downloads off the site. Unfortunately, I wasn't in the scene then and missed the "download now or never" warning. They don't have quite the thing anyway.
EDIT: I was curious all along, what programming language does Goldeneye have? And can you get all of the stuff you can read on the GS Memory Editor in a Notepad document? I'm trying to connect it to PC but I am running into problems. I'll see what I can do.
2: I am in XP so GSCC times out on me. If you have an older OS, get into GSCC with the gameshark on and click "dump". It is located next to File. Once you dump it, go up there again and click "convert to a .txt file". Then add it on FilePlanet and give us the link. Thank you in advance, this is THE first step in emulator-free Goldeneye. It ill provide ease in programming mods, all with just Notepad or programming software. The glitches and troubles will be gone thanks to you.

I have XP, but it doesn't time out for me. I'll do that in a few minutes... |

Ah, I see XP doesn't let you dump. Nevermind I can't do it. GSCC works fine with everything else so I thought it could dump too. |

Does anyone have the Goldeneye ROM? Can you get the hexadecimal from the Memory Editor? |
