I'm just wondering if anybody has considered making a map based on Metal Gear Solid.

I really don't know much about modding or level design, but thought it would be a cool idea if somebody was able to make a map of a Metal Gear Solid stage like the Heliport, Tank hangar , Nuclear store bld etc.

I have actually thought about trying my hand at the heliport, but I'm not skilled enough to make something at that level, yet. It also might be hard on the framerate in multiplayer, since so much visible in an open exterior. But considering the original MGS is the only other title to even compete with GE to be my favourite game of all-time, it's definitely one that would inspire me to build maps based on it.

MGS is a phenomenal game, I never owned a PS at the time (went with the N64 cuz of GE, lol), but played it at a friends and I was blown away by it. We were stuck on the 2nd Vulcan Raven battle in the cold area and were trying to use the Stinger missile to defeat him. He kept shooting us and I had the idea to plant C4's on the ground in between the crates. It proved effective and thought it was pretty cool that there were different ways to defeat a boss.

Would be awesome to bring some of the MGS elements to GE. I was thinking about heliport because of the one in surface. Also the truck where you find the Socom pistol could be replaced by the one from the Dam.
I could see the frame rate issue because of the open exterior, but would it be possible to have a "walled-in" environment like in Complex or something? rather than an outdoor area like Surface or Streets.
