**Combine Vault Multis in an Xdelta**

I was thinking about this the other day and I was wondering if the creators of independent multi maps would like me to work on a one patch xdelta featuring all of your maps. So's rain forest, Eternally Aries rogue control center,etc etc. I'd love to get your CRADLE with background level as a special in this eventually. Your maps could just be the majority here. Wink I'll need binaries from everyone if not included in their setups. Just post Yea or Nah to give me permission to start this. It will be a WHILE before it's done but I will start it right away. I promised I'd work on Perfect Dark again so I'm modding some crazy sh*t right now for it. Laughing

Yeah, you can use the Rainforest multi map.

I don't think I added the files, but you can extract the *.bin files with the 21900 menu. I'll explain to you how if you don't know.
The only issue is that the map uses 2 custom textures. You can either extract them from the patched rom with Image Tools and add them to your new rom, or modify the bgfile.bin and change the textures with ones from the original game.

Except for the texture thing it's really easy and fast to merge different patches if you know what are you doing. When custom textures are in the way that's a different story, hehe.

Ah that shouldn't be a problem EXCEPT for the fact it may mess up other levels. Or did you add your textures to the end of ROM? In that case can just keep the ROM from your patch and add to it. Eternal's may be hard if he doesn't have his binaries however I may be able to work around it with a fresh ROM export. I have an idea in the back of my mind to just MERGE my quote "LOST ZONES" Mod with this Wink . Technically it could just have yours and Aries maps as bonuses. Be really cool to include your ocarina maps. just let me know what binaries you have from all that stuff.

Like I said I'm working on a lot or Perfect Dark stuff but will do this inbetween PD making me angry. Which is uuuummmm happening right now. Mad Laughing

The textures were added to end of rom. But I think I replaced the level image in the selection screen too (I think in Complex spot).
I needed the different sky settings that Complex provides for different amount of players (for fog distance basically), so if you want to put Rainforest in another slot and make it 1:1 from mine it needs to be replacing Temple, Complex or Caverns (Caverns has its own music, not random themes).

You can extract the binaries from the patched rom with the 21990 menu (this is an old image but it helps):

1-Load patched rom
2-Select level that custom map has replaced
3-Click on this rectangle to select the file you want to extract (in image it's the setup.bin, but you have to do it to bgfile and clipping too, those are the third and fourth rectangles).
4-This is the file you have selected. Multi setups for Facility, Bunker 2, Archives, Carverns and Egypt need to be selected manually scrolling in this list. (When you click the rectangle on step 3 it selects the mission setup).
5-Instead of the button in pic (which replaces the bin file), use the one above "Save File" so you can extract it. You can name it as you want (for example, Rainforest_setup.bin)

When you have extracted all files you follow same process, except in step 5 you click on "Inject file and Update tables" in order to replace the bin files with your own.
Remember to edit the allocations and sky settings so they match the ones from the custom maps. Same with the Scale and Visibility boxes.


As for the Zelda and Mario maps I'll keep those for me, heh.
I have made some improvements to them that I'll include in my next patch, so the ones that are available are kind of obsolete. Also, I want to keep as few patches as possible so people don't get confuse or miss the updated versions.

Ah Np So Just checking. I guess you'll have a full menu anyway if you keep pumping all these levels out anyway Wink Can't wait for your JFG bro. That would be an EPIC multiplayer BEAST Cool. It's like something out of cloud city from star wars with all of the chasms, translucent walkways, and hallways. VERY cool indeed. I like that swamp one too. Really neat.

You are welcome to use my Cradle background map and Rogue map. The cradle map could be an issue for Multiplayer though. Also, those two maps you download from the Vault comes with a bunch of files. so that you can edit each level to your heart content. Both in the 3D editor, and Goldeneye Editor. So you are pretty much set for combining the maps into one rom. What other maps do you have in mind that you will be adding by the way?

Yea I figured IF I can get Cradles bgfile to work. I have an idea. Thinking of testing it tonight. Would be EPIC if it does
