I've downloaded the wonderful universal N64 decompression program that was posted by SubDrag, and I've always been confused about the result. Upon opening each ripped file from the decompressed ROM, there is lines of characters that display: "ÿ=ÿãÿò `i|ÿÿ7ÿãÿä ÿ 8ARÿÿEÿâÿà ". Is this code that cant be interpreted in notepad, so it shows this? Or is it code that has been encrypted and must be converted into readable code? _________________ YouTube Channel: http://Youtube.com/Peep5167

Depending on how you ripped it, it will generate .bin, or .bin and .txt. .bin are hex files, that needed to be opened in a hex editor, such as hex workshop. txt files are an attempt to convert to ASCII, just so the user can search out to see if there is any legible text, not just random characters. What you are seeing is I guess a file that is not text, so it comes up gibberish. |
