hello, me again, still playing around with the setup editor and was wondering, how do I set up the objectives so that they are accurate to what the briefing says and what the in the game? I know how to modify the text but how do I change it to apply to the games briefing? |

You should be able to set the folder briefing up in the Edit Briefing menu. It appears in a drop down menu when you click on one of the options at the top of the main window or Visual window. You control the text, objective order and difficulties they appear on, and what the briefing says. Of course, the mission objectives are still done in the Edit Objectives menu. You save out your new briefing, and import it into your ROM in the 21990 menu under Stage Options (Ubrief_). Try that out, and hopefully it works for you. |

When you choose the file you want to replace from the list, to the lower left, file should be called "Ubrief", you click on Inject File, then choose your custom saved briefing file. When it has been imported, click Write ROM with 21990 Modifications (or along those lines... I don't have my computer hooked up).
Example: UbriefdestZ = Frigate Briefing |

Ack...
I've done that before. Now I usually save my changes under a new ROM name, or cycle through some. Like "Complex_Mission1" then 2, 3 and 4. And go back to 1 again. That way, if anything goes bad, I can reload the previous one. Has definitely helped me out on quite a few occasions. And if it becomes a big project, such as GoldenEye X, creating an Xdelta patch every so often, with the date in the name, can be a huge help. |
