Hmm, I'll recompile the editor and include it in a clean exe. But the image editor shouldn't have any problems, though it uses a huge amount of memory. |

Okay... Dragonsbrethren, does the Grid patch (not one with PD pack but actual GE stage) also crash it?
If it does, then there's either a memory or processor issue that's preventing you from using it entirely. Image recall is one of the most intensive functions in the editor. _________________ (\_/) Beware

It would appear as though I'm having the same problems, as well. So far, only the Fortress and Sewers have been able to load, both without their textures. Every other stage attempted has resulted in crashing the Editor. When trying to load a ROM in the Image Tools menu, the program has to close. I'll keep trying, but this doesn't seem to be going too greatly.
I should add this now, while I still remember. During the installation of the PD Level Viewer, the progress bar filled, but the "Finished" tab never activated. The window sat and sat, until I eventually closed it. Perhaps it didn't install properly, which is why these problems are occuring? _________________

I had that same problem with the installer but didn't think anything of it. |

It sounds like it never finished ips patching the ROMS (which does take some time). Can you see if the levels patched properly, and if not, try manually patching using the ips in the dir (or are they not there?). Then reopening. |

It does the same when patched manually... |

If the image tools aren't working, you won't be able to get any of the new stages to load with textures. It uses the same scheme to recover the PD images as it does to make the image editor indexy-list thing. If the rom isn't found it should ignore loading the images, so you'll get bland walls and normal GE textures for objects. In theory.
However, there's a problem with the more recent editor crashing whenever a file can't be opened or found. Before it just popped up a message and failed gracefully. _________________ (\_/) Beware

After many hours of finding a compromise, the best way I've found to overcome the Editor from crashing is that if you manually inject clipping, bg file, setup etc into Runway on the GE rom, write the new rom, and save it in the appropriate folder with the PD Files as Goldeneye.rom.rom, then opening the appropriate project file. The level will load without crashing, but will be without textures, but it will do for now!
I'm not an expert at all this so correct me if I'm wrong, but could it be that the textue IPS's are corrupt in some way?
Another point I'd like to make is that each PD clipping file appears to be identical, and appears to be blank. The only clipping files that work are the ones that have been converted for GE recently: Car Park, Chicago and G5 Building. |

What levels are failing? I just noticed institute had the wrong pd setup files, so I reuploaded the installer with them.
The clipping filres are virtually empty (like one tile). The only ones with actual bgfiles of course are the ones Zoinkity made them for.
Can you give me a list of what levels fail?
I see no reason why the ips's would fail, I use every single one myself (after application) for my project mode, straight from installer, unless your ROM is byteflipped the wrong way. |

In a nutshell, all the levels seem to fail.
The rom is flipped the right way.
I'll try the new installer and see what happens then... |

Good news - adding a folder called "Temp" to your main GoldenEditor folder enables you to view the PD levels with textures!
Problem solved! |

Yep, that seems to have take care of the problem. Though I still seem to be having trouble opening the odd level, most of them have loaded up and displayed without a hitch. (Airbase and Villa CS, so far crash)
By the way, does anyone else have to cycle through the view types (Hi-Res, Lo-Res, No Textures, Wireframe) in order for certain textures to appear correctly? This is for all levels, GE and PD.
Also, some textures are appearing as a red 'X' in a white box for some PD levels. In Temple, it seems like just for the streaming lights that pour through windows and other openings. _________________
