|
|
I'm having a big problem with my parallel port... GSCC detects my GameShark and changes the settings for me, but whenever I try do search memory or something, I get the error message "Connection Timed Out". I have no idea what causes this, but I was messing around with my parallel port settings a while back trying to get my V64jr to work.
Is there any way to check what programs are using the port or to revert the settings back to their factory default? thanks, all help is appreciated. |

What are you trying to do? Load codes or hack some? GSCC is really only useful to upload codes. Get a gameshark 3.30 and use the memory editor to find hacks. Connection Timed Out can usually be fixed by simply loading the game WITHOUT a shark or anything and resetting the N64's registry. Just be patient. You can also download a replacement parallel port to REPLACE the piece of crap WindowsXP is preinstalled with:

Ask away, I'm sure either me or someone else can help. MultiplayerX _________________ |

Thanks for all the help Believe it or not, the only error was that I was not using the N64 with an expansion pak Works now, however, I don't really understand the whole code uploading buisness
Also, about the link you posted, how would this help me? Will it speed up transfers/make them more reliable? |

Yeah silly GSCC . It loses track of where the damn code list file is, usually in your OWNER files. NOt sure how to fix it's position so GSCC can find it. Hell I had to restore my computer back and then LEAVE the GSCC folder on my desktop so it would open the code list. Zoinkity???? Help please? _________________ |

How should I know? GSCC is stupid. I think it might have to do with a hidden .GID file. It seems to store settings and such. You could rename it or move it somewhere it shouldn't be and see if that helps. Honestly, if I ever, ever figure out how to upload codelists without the utility... _________________ (\_/) Beware

Yeah, shooting the damn thing isn't an option either; however, you can start over by deleting all files in gscc related to codes folders and hidden folders too. Just keep the .exe ones and cnt. whatever and dump the rest. _________________ |

I think so. Just go into SEARCH and type GSCC. Then under ADVANCED select hidden folders etc. Delete anything that's not exe. Then start over. If that fails just DELETE everything and download GSCC again. Open it first and select code list. Then turn on your shark and plug it in then select download to above to transfer your shark codes to GSCC. After that open up the CODES notepad and edit codes from there then SAVE. It's safer this way. YOu can then just update your shark's FULL codes list and UPLOAD from FILE.

No luck man I got a hold of the official ultilities, but they don't detect the Shark due to some driver conflicts |

Get rid of the piece of crap that comes with windows with this:
http://www.savefile.com/projects3.php?fid=3742479&pid=888430&key=977739
Just click on Setup
HOPEFULLY after you DELETE yet AGAIN all of the GSCC files, a fresh download will work better with this. If that doesn't work go to SYSTEMS and RESTORE your pc to an earlier time or something. It's just stupid like Zoinkity said. Once the damn thing is running just edit your code list in the NOTEPAD. _________________ |
