Just typical lol. Well there's a few brick walls that I've run into - and it regards the portals. The Tank/Boat is playing merry havoc with the portals in that sections of the level are vanishing when the player steps onto the Tank clipping. I might have to get SubDrag to help me out with this one if I don't jinx it soon. At worst it could be an issue we'd just tolerate.

Apart from that - clipping is complete guys - it took ages to get interesting bugs out - onto the mission objectives, and seeing as this level never really existed does anyone have any suggestions?

MRKane had me test this for him just recently. What I did, was replace the original speedboat with his modified speedboat model, then update the settings in the 21990 Modifications menu. Editing the Streets setup, I changed the jeep closest to the tank into another tank, then manually switched the object ID to the speedboat with Hex Edit. I saved the new ROM and tested it out in Mupen64. Here were the results...

Both vehicles were operational, as can be seen in those two images. Neither one of them conflicted with each other. It's really no different from having two tanks in your setup.

So, you can replace any model in the game - be it an unused / unfinished one, or the original speedboat model - and be able to have the two separate vehicles within the same ROM. Even more, when (or if) they're made.

wow. this just keeps getting better.

this is becoming the thread I read first every visit.

This opens up so many possibilities and I can't even imagine what some of you can come up with.

Tank!: Yeah, I really look forward to seeing what MRKane does with this. He should be able to adjust pretty much everything he needs, now. It'll be a lot of fun to check out.

The only thing that is a bit of a bummer, is that there is no practical way of preventing players from walking on the water. I've tried to think of different methods, but nothing solves everything. No matter what, so long as you're free to leave the boat, nothing can stop you from getting out and hopping into the water. Well, I do have one idea, but it would need testing. I still have my doubts about it, though. It's not a big problem, having the player walk on water, but it does take away from you requiring a boat trip.

Maybe the water can kill you like make the texture explode on you or a Bond die if - ... idk lol

Hmm, interesting point. Trying to think if there would be a way to detect if Bond was in the water, but not on the boat. Then if go in water, print text like "Bond drowning, return to boat within 5 seconds", and after 5 seconds, it kills Bond? I wonder how we could do that.

True maybe set a flag that once in the boat(also an objective) cannot get out of boat if not objective/mission fails and you could use a bond death animation maybe?

I was thinking of making the water into a crouch - which would make life really slow. However, given the clipping - from the boat you can't see anything BUT water. Damn level scripting.

Either way, if you've got a boat, why leave it? Furthermore - it's about fun in my eyes so I won't be adding in anything nasty - unless it's big and rotary and is sitting in the island tower - it rhymes with fun and starts with a "G".

We've got smashable glass on the island tower too now.

As before: real life is dinting my development, and probably will do until mid-may. Sorry guys about the delays.

how does the speedboat work though i looked in the dam level and didn't see anything
