I honestly have no idea about any of this but would it be possible to just check the data of the guard in the Dam level that rushes the alarm?
IDK, just a very uneducated guess. _________________ Proud Member Of The G.N.A.A. |

I have looked through all of the 04XX Action blocks for dam and it was not there i don't understand how they did it if its not in the action blocks. I have made a guard trigger an alarm before but when he did it he was around two feet away from the alarm so it did not look realistic and it is clear that the preset that the alarm uses he will not jog to so I want to know how to get him to go to it but wait until he is close to it before activating it. Maybe Bunker 1 has the answer?
Edit: No that did not solve it there is no action block there either. _________________ "We have always found the Irish a bit odd, They refuse to be English" Winston Churchill

Shouldn`t It be a generic action block Like 0009:Actor Triggers Object. |

Hmmm you are right.
I missed that. But how does it know which object to activate?
Edit: No he just made a glitchy step forward the attacked again without going anywhere near the alarm? _________________ "We have always found the Irish a bit odd, They refuse to be English" Winston Churchill

Yeah but he still did nothing involving the alarm it is probably the right choice but how does the guard know what he has to activate? _________________ "We have always found the Irish a bit odd, They refuse to be English" Winston Churchill

Maybe you guys could communicate over PM's, or on a chat service? I'm just seeing a lot of posts in here by the two of you, which would be better served in private messages. The solution to the problem could then be posted. Sorry to be a party-pooper. _________________

To use the generic "guard activates object block" you need to set the character's default 2328 pad to the pad the alarm is on. |

OK I did what you said and it seemed to work only the guard ran around in circles and never went near the alarm at all, could I have done something wrong because it was the same result for the other guard set to sound the alarm here is a sample of the action block
Code: | AC0A272F Set Guard ID #'S 2328 Value To Preset (Russian Infantry:Dk Tan)(P: 272F)
AC11273A Set Guard ID #'S 2328 Value To Preset (Russian Infantry:Dk Tan)(P: 273A)
|
Btw does it matter that these lines of code are set in block 1000? and the guards both have their action blocks set to 0009 Actor Triggers Object. _________________ "We have always found the Irish a bit odd, They refuse to be English" Winston Churchill

You don't need to use an action block, if you open the character editor there is a field for the default 2328 pad for each guard. The running around problem may be unsolvable, I had the same thing happen in my Complex mission a few times, and it's strange because Rare's alarm ringing guards are very reliable. |
