You were right but it was the same result.
Maybe there is something we are missing from Rare's Guards? could it be we still don't know it all?

| The only thing I noticed is that Rare's guards are lined up with their alarms almost perfectly. The one in Dam only needs to turn around and run forward, the one in Bunker just runs forward. Try moving your guards or alarms if you can, and see if that helps. |

One of my guards just has to run forward to get to his alarm but when he is near it he suddenly turns the same with the other they both travel in straight lines
I will try the copy and paste now and tell you the outcome.
Edit: The pasted Guard ran to the alarm and would have activated it only it was too high but he attempted the hand motion then fired at me. The other two were clueless and had no idea what they were trying to do Running towards and then away from the alarm.
I guess it is quite clear Rare did something.
