been lazy for some days, but I finished bowser's first level corridor with the trapdoor in the floor and princess secret slide's little room.
A few hours ago I looked into how much of the castle's outside I could reproduce with my current method and seems that, with a few tricks and a lot of patience, the architectonic parts are feasible, not so sure about the "natural" parts.
So, I did a part of it and wanted to make a little experiment just to see exactly how much spatial desync there is between the inside and the outside of the castle:
Here are the results
As you see, they hardly fit. Not that it is a surprise, but it's quite more than I previously thought.
If anyone ever tries to make a complete castle, it will need some EXTREME make up: resizing, reorienting, triming... sounds kind of fun
Just wanted to make a little update, although a bit superfluous, maybe. |

I don't understand your question. This is not in playable form yet, it's just a model for now. It won't be playable for a while, there's still quite a lot of work to do, that's why this is a WIP thread. |

I didn't want to write to say this, but it's been 3 weeks since I said anything about this project, and well, I felt like I should say something.
First, and most important, the level is NOT DEAD... just sleeping.
There are various reasons for this, including that I'm researching into a better work environment, learning some technical stuff, "repairing" my computer setup, my life, and many things. I am also being a bit lazy xD.
Also, this level is quite important to me, and I want to give it the best I can, so I may divert some work into other less ambitious levels as a training and to prevent this one from putting too much stress on me before I get to complete something playable.
As a first level this is quite ambitious, so before it kills me, I'll combine it with something else and try to learn a lot so I can give Peach's Castle a much better treatment I can give to it right now.
So, although I'm saying this is slowing down (well, it's been stalled for a time now, but the first week was extreme so... well you know what I mean), it is actually good news because it will make it be better and also I'll be making other levels too. |

No worries - we all have unfinished projects, I have more than I can count on one hand, several of which have been on the backburner for at least a year. Its pointless to work on projects unless you're in the right motivational mood. |

I'm glad to see interest is still there, but, sadly, I don't have anything new to post yet.
I'm having life and material issues that keep me from setting up a working environment to get into working on this again.
One of the main problems I have is the computer I'm currently using is quite insufficient to emulate the N64 or run the setup editor.
The proyect is not dead, just hibernating.
I'd like to have something up before the summer ends, though, but I can't promise anything. |

I don't normally like to post in older threads like this, but has anybody seen this?

I'm not sure if that includes any of the interior or not, but it would be a good starting point to work with. |

Yep, I've seen it. It's playable in a hacked Halo, and there's a video (somewhere) on YouTube of people playing this level with Cars or something. Also, there is no interior; I'm almost positive. |

yeah I used that Halo map to create a GE version but it's not my map, and there is no interior. |

I'm still hoping that you'll be able to finish your Peach's Castle, Radorn. It was looking really, really nice. I know it'd be a lot of fun in GoldenEye's multiplayer, too.

Well, unless something really bad happens, I should be able to get to work again, eventually (hopefully soon). It's just that, for now, I don't have a properly working environment, which includes not only my computer but also a number of things outside of it.
In short, I'm in a really crappy general situation. |
