I'm releasing a blob of documentation, now available for your perusal.
-preferably-
http://www.xente.mundo-r.com/radorn/goldeneye.7z
-or-
http://www.mediafire.com/?dxvz2ygi675i22f
The topics are diverse. Most of the documents are randomly collected, some probably redundant, uneditted, half of them quickly written notes, and a good deal of it probably inaccurate or dated. Still, it is what it is, so have at it. In particular, look at the 21990 index extension, which documents a lot of what's in the 21990 (more so than the index); the TLB routine table, which documents the ROM<->TLB routine correspondance and a large number of functions that do awesome stuff; and the rand++ notes, which documents a crazy series of patches that extended certain UI and system functions, like allowable spawn presets, intro animations and weapons, random bodies and heads, MP menu features, and the 4-bond integration with character models, cuffs, heads, and folder images. Yep, there's clear proof now that the 4-bond feature directly influenced the characters you played as in Aztec and Egypt, using stage model 9 to use the currently-selected bond folder image to grab a certain head, body, and cuff!
...okay, truth be told this is a paranoia-driven release. After a major harddrive failure a large amount of stuff has been lost, and so what's left is now available for everyone to gawk at. Anyone doing stuff - BACK UP EVERYTHING!
Note:
You'll want to use the mirror. The Animal Forest patch I host sort of blows my entire bandwidth, each download ;*) So, if you can't get it, it isn't due to the link - it's because of bandwidth overload. _________________ (\_/) Beware

^ Did your hard drive actually physically fail, or did it just become unaccessable/unbootable? If it's #1, I feel your pain (my Xbox 360 died, and it probably feels just the same). But if it's number two, you can try using a boot disk to access your files.
When I think about it, however, maybe I shouldn't be asking you something so obvious. You're one of the smartest people on the forum, so it's likely that you already know about stuff like boot disks... _________________ Pure hand-drawn goodness. |

You should look into online and automated backups or something.
I personally go the route of ftp backup on shutdown via batch file.
I have an account (ryanoasis) at http://g.ho.st/ as it has 5 gigs of storage and you can ftp. |

Mirrored. I made it lowercase since the server seems to be case sensitive.
It's on my ISP's "free" 50mb wespace.
I have absolutelly no idea what the limitations are for it, but feel free to abuse it since I don't use it for anything else.
In fact, use it as the main mirror if you want, and just fall back to the original one in case it fails.
You have my permission to make it "official" and post it wherever you want.
Since the wespace is totally empty save for this file, I could also host something else if you really need to.

The documentation has been updated. Well, truth be told, the only file with any real addition was the microcode file. It should cover a much broader range of commands, including a few you'll never ever use.
The mirror was also updated. Kudos by the way! That was rather nice of you ;*)
+_+
As for the hard drive, a few sectors were corrupted, including the master boot record. I recovered a good part of the drive, but unfortunately some of the N64 documents were in said sectors. Not just GE stuff, but PD, AF, CR & CR2, most of the upload information... Did a number on it.
Don't have web access - and even then it was dial-up - so online backup is out. In fact, most of the documentation is stowed on floppies all over the place, but keeping those updated can be a pain. _________________ (\_/) Beware

Updated yet again at geocities. Some tank documentation, and notes from a weird tank hack in the works. Other things as well in the TLB document, and some new player data movement values. To tell the truth, I lost track...
Yes, you can now (Bum bum bummmm) see just how fast Bond is moving forward and turning to the side! Yes! You are amazed, are you not? _________________ (\_/) Beware

Updated further today with crazy multiplayer menu and weapon set information. Want to know how you turn weapons into body armor directly through the weapon set? Well, that's outlined. _________________ (\_/) Beware

I'm gonna have to download this and see what he's documented for the object models. There's one piece of the puzzle sort of holding me up, so I hope he's got it covered in there. _________________

Updated the documentation again today.
Highlights include controller detection routines, menu dASMs, and string functions. Want to make a formatted string?
There's implementations at least for:
strlen()
sprintf()
strcat()
strchr()
strcpy()
stpcpy()
strncpy()
stpncpy()
isspace()
toupper()
tolower()
Handy to know, if you're into that sort of thing. _________________ (\_/) Beware

Mirror updated too
http://www.xente.mundo-r.com/radorn/goldeneye.zip
you should put this link in the initial post too, zoinkity, otherwise new dowloaders that don't know there's a mirror will be downloading from your geocities space, defeating the purpose of having a mirror for bandwidth saving |

Will do.
Forgot the stupid thing today, so no update. Lament.
Just a bunch of weird text-related stuff anyway, in case you want to know how the different region support worked. No loss. _________________ (\_/) Beware
