Do you realize the implications of what you have just done?
No further GE hac... nay, NO FURTHER ROMHACKING is needed anymore.
Nothing that's done after this can possibly surpass this monumental achievement!
Now we can have toilets that explode FOR REAL!!!! |

Haha, love the sales pitch and presentation. I'm sold! Give me one of those!
This is actually what I wanted to do with the Goldfinger patch. Release a Youtube video that imitates 90s video game commercials, but is set in 60s and is trying to sell kids the NEW JAMES BOND MOVIE GAME TIE-IN on the new NINTENDO 64 GAME CONSOLE! You get the satisfaction of ACTUALLY BEING BOND and experience all the GLITZ AND GLAMOUR OF BEING A BRITISH AGENT, KILL THE BAD GUYS AND WIN THE GIRL! VISIT NEW EXCITING PLACES IN THE COMFORT OF YOUR OWN LIVING ROOM!
... can we really explode the toilet? |

It doesn't go anywhere....maybe the room fills up with gas and kills you just like when you destroy the bottling tanks. |

Who said it was supposed to flush?
Rare didn't even give it a handle! Although this toilet looks a lot better than the one in Train, atleast that one had both a tank and a pull-chain. A similar one can be found HERE. I may even end up customizing The Sh!tter, and making a deluxe version. For now, I'll probably work on another object, though. Oh, I did modify the RGB on certain sections. I didn't like how the shadowing would just end abruptly in a few areas, so I made it fade off, instead.
As for blowing up the toilet (that really doesn't sound too healthy), I suppose you could. I hadn't actually tried it yet, for two reasons. The first being that I replaced an object that was indestructible in all levels it is featured, while the second was due to the fact that I'm still not totally sure how to handle that part of the object file. It'd probably make the model get all distorted, as-is. Although, I also made another version that will simply stay looking exactly the same when destroyed. It's 0xC0 smaller in uncompressed filesize, and can be both held and worn as a hat! Isn't that fun! _________________

Are the "exploded" models custom made, or do the game just remove some tris, transform it and vertice paint the model black? |

Zoinkity explained (technically speaking) how it works, but it's a bit tricky. I sort of get a sense of it, looking at different files. Immediately following the vertices, is a set of two lists...
The first is a list that looks like more vertices. However, you'll notice that the RGB slots all have "FFFF0000" in them. These are actually copies of the vertices. But they only copy unique points. Any duplicates are passed over. The ID of the vertice is stored after the Z Coordinate, which is usually left blank, and are listed in ascending order.
The second is where I'm confused. It seems to list all of those duplicates that the first list neglected. But there doesn't appear to be any certain order to how they are stored. To make things even more strange, there's also some "FF"s tossed into the mix. How you're supposed to arrange these, I don't know. I think that's what is making my objects look totally distorted when destroyed.
My other method of creating objects, follows the handheld formula. It's a shorter file, doesn't contain either of those two lists, can be held or worn, and has 03 "05"s. When you break the model, it doesn't change the way it looks. Even if you completely destroy it, nothing happens to the appearance. I'd definitely take this over the whacked out, abstract mess that occurs the other way, anyday.
Edit: Curiosity got the best of me...
That, yes that, used to be a toilet. You can see why I wouldn't recommend using that file type until we know more about how to set the other lists up. Anything that you want to destroy, will end up looking like total carp. You're better off using the flag "remove when destroyed" on it. That's why I'll only be using the handheld formula, for now. _________________

What kind of colour is FFFF0000? Black? Dark grey?
I don't know, I kind of like the distorted look! Also, I require a picture of someone wearing it as a hat, or holding it. That would be great. |

Are you going to follow this with the urinal, or the sinks even? |

@ monkeyface:
I don't think the "FFFF0000" is actually effecting the RGB of the broken model. I think it's just a kind of filler, or replacement, for the points it copies out of the vertices. I could be wrong, though. Maybe it also helps to aid in compression, resulting in a smaller file. If the RGB isn't used, why fill it all in again? That's my thoughts.
I'll have to make it a hat for you. I don't know, I'll probably need to change the starting coordinates in the model file, or else it won't look like it's in the right place.
@ DK25:
This isn't really a custom object, but yes. You can make totally new objects, if you know how to build the right file for it. I've been able to make standard things, hats, handhelds, monitors, and doors with glass.
@ Kode-Z:
I could always rip a sink and urinal. Even if it isn't used as an object, people could always use the data as architecture in their own map. It'd require adjustments, obviously, but atleast the ground work will be laid down. _________________
