Hello,
I'm new to hacking GE, but I've ran into problem which I can't seem to be able overcome. At first I tried asking around in Java Live Chat, but none seems to know why this is happening.

So I started editing weaponsets in 21990 Modification and only changed settings in weaponsets, but something strange happened:

Weapon appeared with its ammo boxes in Facility map by itself into this room in 1P screen

and in Temple something similiar happened: ammo boxes of weapon changed their location, but weapon remain in the same place
(I'm aiming in 1P screen to where ammo boxes have moved)

This is ammo boxes new location

I've also tried couple times doing editing from scratch, but always get same results in these maps, so maybe someone else also might know about this or know why this is happening and/or if there is something that can be done about it

I'd appreciate any help regarding my situation

Did you change the weapons? Some might be unused previously.

Yes I changed weaponsets and many of them a lot, but by previously unused weapons do you mean for example normal shotgun & silver / golden PP7? I put those weapons in some of weapon sets.

But now I tried changeing only first weapon in Power Weapons set (Weapon #00 DD44) to normal D5K Deutche and in Temple map I got same results: ammo boxes moved to another room

This seems pretty strange to me and I discussed with this some hackers in irc channel(Java live chat) and they told I could fix those ammo crates positions back where they belong with Visual Editor, but I'd like to avoid that if at all possible.

This is strange. I made a weapon set patch a while back, and never encountered any problem like this. Maybe it's a new issue?

It really could be, since I think many other people also must have made own weaponsets in the past.

I now started looking for older GE setup editor to test if this would work correctly with it.

I don't see how if you only modify weapons, and don't change the setup in any way, that they could change locations.

Yeah, changing the weapon sets themselves in the 21990 Index should have no bearing on where they end up in a level. That is entirely decided on by the stage setup file, so I can't see this being an Editor issue.

Also, the Temple in GoldenEye has always had screwed up ammo crate locations. There are three stuck inside of other crates, which can be shot out and separated. This is a mistake made by Rare, but is fixable by editing the setup with the GoldenEditor.

And with the Facility, I'm not totally sure what the problem is there. Isn't there always a weapon set in that security control room? I think a Klobb is in there on Automatics.

Is it possible that you're thinking of Perfect Dark weapon placements and getting confused in GoldenEye?

Oh yeah Wreck you're correct.

I think this is all just results from playing too much PD lately, since I apparently completly forgot about that weapon spawn point in Facility. and what comes into Temple I just automatically thought it must have something to do with my editing when I recieved Mangum bullets & 9mm ammo from "same ammo box"

But anyways thanks for all your replies and help!

Glad to have this all cleared up, Oxidice.
That's one less thing for SubDrag to worry about. Wink
