The Mysterious Sixth Watch Tab

You might notice in some older beta screen captures that there were six tabs in the watch menu, not five. Well, it just so happens not all of tab six has been removed, and now you - yes, YOU - will know its inner secrets.

The sixth tab used to lie between the inventory and controls page. We can tell this from the page advance interface that wasn't removed.
Now, there isn't an interface for the page, since it didn't seem to select optional data. However, there was a constructor, so we know absolutely and without any doubt the amazing feature this tab held. After all these years, with certainty, we can now declare to the whole community that on this page your objectives were listed. Yep, the briefing and objectives were seperate watch tabs at one point.

So, one more mystery down ;*)

I suppose it makes sense for them to have listed the briefing and objectives separately, but keeping them together in one section does seem like a better choice. It's nice to actually know for sure what was on each of those watch screens. Cool discovery, Zoinkity! Smile

cool. good find. How much is left of this 6th watch tab? enough to exploit this leftover in some way and complete it, like the citadel? What it could be used for im not sure. But its probably just a tiny shred of code with no real use other than to bloat the rom. Funny how all you hear about the n64 cart is how it is too small and how developers always had to make cuts to make it fit. Im sure goldeneye isnt the only game with a lot of wasted space.

Pretty interesting find, Zoinkity. Smile
I gotta say, though, I came to love the fact that pressing Start in Perfect Dark brought up the objectives instantly.
Not like it's all that hard to move the control stick left in the GoldenEye screen, though. Rolling Eyes
