over the past few days, i have been experimenting with ideas, and i have developed a way to make one way drops (though i suspect that zoinkity already figured this out, since it is used in his G5 map).
The basic procedure consists of arranging the clipping Tri's on the floor of the drop to line up with the clipping that you will connect from the drop point.
Then you extend two clipping Tri's from the top of the drop, to the floor where two clipping tiles meet.
then run stan convert, redo connections, and redo Plinks, and it should work.
An extension of this is making "omni-directional" drops.
you do the above, however, split the clipping on the floor below so that the area directly below your drop has clipping Tri's whose edges line up precisely with the hole your dropping out of.
Then extend 2 clipping Tri's to the floor for each side, run the conversions, and your done.
Heres my test map, for reference.

EDIT:
how do i always forget this?
it replaces facility multi <_>

Why haven't one way drops been able to be made before, isn't there a one way drop in the egyptian level? Could it not be reversed engineered before now? Or am i completely mistaken? _________________ 304 HP |

I think there is a height restriction that prevents you from climbing up some drops. You can usually trick it, however, by using different methods. Either Turbo Mode cheat, or by strafing at the wall and spinning around while aiming. Both the Facility bathroom vent drop and the large Aztec trench can be scaled, if you follow the right steps. _________________

I wrote a rather long, drawn out article on how to make three different types of 1-way connections. It's in the documentation, naturally.
If you notice, there's several different types of them in the PD import stages. G5 had simple ones, Car Park alternate tiles at a 1 unit height difference. Chicago had a few too, though I doubt any two matched. _________________ (\_/) Beware
