Like the title says.I would like to know how to port levels. Either from GE to PD or the other way around. Pls help. Thanks in regard

What do you mene by port level like put it in the n64 play it on thar or put it in the Goldeneye rom play your new level on that

He means like take a level from GE and put it in a PD rom or the other way around. Have you tried looking around the forums or tutorials on [url]goldeneyeforever.com[/url]? I'm sure there is some information on this somewhere.

Ok im here to help here how to do it but you can only port PD level in goldeneye for now that is

Step 1

Open up Goldeneye Setup Editor V2

Step 2

Make a new file on your desktop

Step 3

Copy a goldeneye 007 rom and put it in the new file

Step 4

Go to tool and Extras tools and PD tool and click on Convert PD BG file full
to GE

Step 5

Go rite and you see a file call pdbgfilesfull click on it now click a PD level that has BG at the end of the name and click on chcago BG and click open and make shre the name has this (Name of level_bgcomp)

Step 6

Save the new file in the new folder that you made

Step 8

Now wen a Min go by it wll say successfully converted! (then prob crash

Step 9

Go to tool and Extras tools and PD tool and click on Convert PD BG file into
to GE adding textures end

Step 10

in your file you sud see gebgfileTextures click on it now open your goldeneye 007 rom then save your new rom in the same folder

Step 11

Now go back to the goldeneye editor folder and click on pdbgfilesfull and click on the same file then save in your new file now give it a min then it will say successfully converted! (then prob crash

Step 12

Click on file then new Runway or whatever level you want

Step 13

Open the visual editor and click on mode and go to clipping and delete all the clipping then go to BG mode
and delete all portels then click on import full background file and open the BG file

Step 14

it will take som time be for it will import wen its done it will look like it had no textures at all but we are not done yet
save as project and call it chcago an save it will take a min and wen it done open the project agane and it will take much longer to load wen its done it will have all the textures but some textures will have a X all level that you import will have a X on some textures but wen you put it inthe goldeneye game it will look just like the level from PD

Thats the end of this FAQ i hope it help you Smile Oh and this will work on the PD level i just use Chcago for the FAQ

I followed the steps as close as possible, but when I tried to re-open the project, I got nothing but corrupted GE textures

what did i do wrong Question

I didn't get the time to try it out yet(not allowed to go on pc during weekdays....I am "sneaking" on the pc right now).

Oh and Napalnero: According to EterrnallyAries you don't have to worry about that I think

NapalNero gest you need to do it agane but make shr you read Step 9 thu
Step 11 More carfully be cus that wus more confushing for me wen i did it if you dont do it rite it wont load the textures at all so good luck. Oh and BGS did it work for you yet?

Ok, I ported the level again, and it worked fine.

However there seems to be tons of random goldeneye objects scattered about the outside of the level, should i delete these or keep em?

Did you open up a setup file or go to file->new?
