I searched on Goleneyevault for a tutorial but I can't seem to find one.Can anyone Help me? |

If you are making a texture from scratch, you should make it 32x32, 32x64 or 64x32. GE contains other texture sizes, but the editor doesn't handle them so far (more complex of a problem than it seems, believe me).
You should then convert it to a 8bit color indexed bitmap. Don't use MSPAINT for this, since it's 8bit format is direct RGB instead of paletted/indexed, and 8bit per pixel in RGB gives a really poor color depth. Use some other image processing software, such as a professional editors (photoshop, etc) or image viewers/converters (I use the free IrfanView, which has a batch converter).
Once you have your correctly formatted 8bit bmps, go to the editor's "Image Tools", and replace some texture you don't need with yours, or add it as a new one to the end of the list.
You can also add textures at the same time you convert a 3D OBJ file to GE format by listing the textures' filenames in a file named "textures.txt" and using the appropriate import option. |
