Hello,

I have two questions about the editor:

1: How do you add gameshark codes into the .cht file for patched roms?

and 2: Is it possible to add patches on top of already patched roms? Like can I patch the All Bonds, Antenna Cradle Source, etc. into one ROM?

I can answer number 2.

Yes you can [At least I think, I never have tried, it's been a while. Wink], but you would have to keep making new ones.

Like, say the editor could only fit 1 Level into a ROM, you'd generate the patch, apply it, and get your ROM.

Now too attach the second level, you overwrite that ROM, and generate another patch. And your new ROM should have both levels.

...

NO, if you use a patch on a ROM with another patch already applied to it you'll surely end with a ROM with garbage that will fail to function correctly.
Most patches are meant to be applied to a "clean" (read, unmodified) ROM, and applying to something else is bound to result in an unpredictable degree of failure.

If you want to merge two hacks in one you have no choice but to learn enough hacking so you can extract the hacked bits off each patched ROM (you'd need to apply each patch to a separate ROM), sort out incompatibilities, rearrange stuff, and hack all into a single ROM.

Currently, and for the foreseeable future, there's no way arround that.

As for the cheats, I don't really know as I have never done much with emulation cheats. But you could try to add cheats to the patched ROM from within the emu's GUI if it offers some way to do that, and then edit the cheat file manually to find the newly created entry and copy the original game cheats over. Perhaps it works, but of course there's a good chance a good number of these cheats are no longer compatible with the hacked ROM... Good Luck!

A few can be combined, but most can't. They'll say if they can. Some of Zoinkitys can.
