Does anybody know the number of portals you can have open at once before blackouts start to become a problem in multiplayer? I assume it somewhat depends on memory allocations and the number of polygons per room. But is there any magical formula for figuring this out?
I'm asking because I can quickly see that my cabins map is going to need to be broken down into smaller rooms for framerates to hold up, part of which includes having portals for the cabin windows. I don't want to get this thing 3/4 built and then discover that I broke it down too far. |

It has to do with one of the allocations in 21990, which you can up a little bit but not extraordinarily. I don't have a good answer for you unfortunately, it has to do with the different buffers overwriting each other. |
