Hi, I'm translating GoldenEye for my language and with the advice of Sogum, I decided to create a topic so that you can help me (Not required of course)

The text translation is going well, but the editing font is a big headache, I edited the letters of FONT1:

á = [
ã = %
õ = &
ú = /
é = ]
ç = |
ê = +
í = $

In-game looks like this:

As you can see: The letters % and + were distorted and | for some reason became a X...

Have any of you have an answer for me?

Thank you!

Note: Just do not show pictures of the translation because I was translating placing accents and if I put everything in game crashes x.x

Welcome MJarcos! Glad you decided to start a topic here. Very Happy

Unfortunately there's no way to fix the distorsion. You will have to replace your font with other characters that don't distort.
Or you can go the hard way and try to make your font already distorted and hope the editor displays it right after re-distorting it.

How many fonts do you need to edit?
As I yold you earlier I edited [ ] $ & / | { } in the big size fonts. I also had to edit % instead of } in the small text fonts. It needed some counter-distorsion but it ended up fine.

I've absolutely no clue why that happened to your | replacemet. That character should be easy to edit.

Good luck with your translation.

Consulta tus Mensajes Privados, voy a contestarte ahora.

In English.

You have a lot of special characters to add,you named 12 and I had a lot of trouble to add just 8. Perhaps someone else who did a translation could recomend other fonts to edit.
You could try to skip some special characters using synonims but beeing most of them vowels it feels imposible to do. I'm afraid you'll have to edit some of the fonts that distort the images.

About the | simbol been replaced with ñ , I did it again and your are right that the images size aren't the same. I didn't remember it well but it worked for me -> you have to keep the vertical size in pixels but it seems you can change the horizontal size as you want. At least replacing this fonts there was no problem at all.

Has Lgun some kind of limitations? I had no problems injecting the text with the 21990 modifications menu but there's another method with the Text Editor that has a limit for the text size.

Your translation look great Very Happy I have no idea of Portuguese but it seems almost done.

Check you PM.

Gracias...

Sorry for double posting, but come on!

This is for the most hacker! If you take the GEDecompressor, you would know the font files of GE and PD? I remember once I managed to get new accents changing the file table.

Thank you!

Did you try a 32-bit version of bmp for import? Which chars specifically don't work, please give me a list and I will investigate. And which ones work.

Those who worked:

&, %, $ and #

But others 'repeat' letters, turned õ for ê for example.

If anyone is interested, here are the files in small font:

Thanks

Okay, now let's see if I hit:

First I took the file and change a few letters LttileE to test the accents:

Then I went to the tool in order to enter the 21,990 new lyrics:

I put the text file (already in BIN format.) And converted to ROM.

As you can see the translation works without are problems:

But when we see the accents, we noticed that some letters are repeated in the other place, for example: õ. And for some reason: | turns X.

Is that it?

Yes but I also need you to post your replacement bitmaps, working and nonworking, and which goes to what letter.
