Correct. The text I'm modifying is in Crypt. I'm using the arrows to the left side of the text editor to change the text digit of the text I modified with another. After that, I convert ROM, then inject, but it's still showing the original text from Rare. Am I converting and injecting in the wrong order or something?

You write in place of the digit. You erase original text,then you write your own. When done you save then head to briefing editor,save when done.
Open up that rom in 21990 or whatever stage options choose rom(The one with your changes) Do your settings music clouds sky all that. Then save and you should be fine bro.
