I reccomend you read my alfredo lamberra topic in this section before reading this. if you read, you know i am working on a prologue to my original series, but before i release that, long time will have passed since i plan to put everything in one single patch.
BUT....!
i thought of doing some fun levels, first idea is a fun, messy labyrinth on runway with lots of tricks. So I should release some little fun levels before my "masterwork" comes out, you see? Your thoughts about this guys?

Seems great but keep in mind the number of presets you can fit in a level. _________________ www.youtube.com/gamerrey23 |

all right folks, i do have time
I'm asking something about editing:
I want a guard to walk to a preset, next, an object explodes. the object is window glass. it does not explode.I followed the tutorial on goldeneyewiki, but something seems wrong. Or, can't I let explode window glass? |

Glass explodes, are you sure it's hitting your action? I usually put text there as a test to make sure it gets to there. Exploding glass definitely works well. |

mmh, thanks for reply, but I made the glass explode in a slightly different way, hehe. you will see!
also, i'd like to tell that I will release soon-at least i hope-a 3level pack, as said before, just for fun,and the labyrinth I spoke of will be in it. this pack will have NO connection with the Alfredo Lamberra pack, aside from the fact that he still replaces bond. do you still understand? well, even i get a bit confused, haha!
merry christmas! |

mmmmh....
I still have no succes with blowing up objects, or triggering explosions around bond, the guards just walk to their preset, next do nothing, despite the fact I put a JAL to wait till detection after object explodes or explosions happen around bond. mmmmmh. Maybe, should I send the action block so you can see what's wrong, Subdrag? |

OK: problem solved, I forgot to change the preset in the "when guard in proximity of preset-"action.

hello guys.
I'm terribly sorry to say, but the chance of releasing the 3 level pack before the 6th if january is very small. Why that date? Well, for personal reasons, after 6 january, I won't be able to edit for a long time. Not only school, this time. Why is the chance small? Well, I've been suffering the last days from a terrible headache . And, when it seems that someone is hammering your head, you don't feel fancy to edit, or even to do anything-god, the screen of the computer hurts my eyes-but I'll try and see if it gets away. That's the little chance that rests. I did not say the chance disappeared. But don't expect miracles.
Also, my levels were never special. I admit that. I'm simply too amateuristic. But it never was my goal to be as skilled as that. A second island or library mission, filled with greatness and creativity, is not to be expected from SilverEye. The single reasons my levels exist are because I love Goldeneye, and I love to make my own fantasy come true. I hope other people enjoyed my fantasy. And I hope they will enjoy the 3 level pack as well, in its own, simple way.
Thanks for reading, and for me, it's time to see if I can fight the headache |

Well.
I defeated the headache. Still, it's too late. This is a failure, and the cause lies with me, of course. But, probably, I'll have a little bit of time to finish everything in the future. In february. Maybe.
Thanks for reading! |

SilverEye, sorry to hear about your headaches (being ill is horrible), but I'm glad you feel OK now, and don't worry about missing the deadline, of course, we appreciate the work you (and everyone else) does on GE (and PD) and we all know that real life gets in the way of our hobbies, sometimes.
I am looking forward to the three level patch, and to the final, all in one patch, and however long it takes (a week, a month, even a year) is how long it takes - we know it takes time to do something well, and that you have a life beyond GE editing. And I'm just happy that people are modding GE and PD, as they deserve to be built upon.
I wish Rare would release the source code for GE and PD, as id Software have done for Quake 1 to 3, and Doom 1 to 3. But it's not likely to happen, as Rare are easily amongst the most secretive of software houses. A real shame.
Anyway, mate, I hope you feel better. And please don't think you have to rush anything, us gamers are used to waiting for quality - as Shigeru Miyamoto so rightly said, a delayed game is delayed for a while, a bad game is bad for ever. Which is why I don't mind Bioshock Infinite being delayed, as I'm really hoping they are using the time to improve the game. Bioshock 1 and 2 were great (especially B2), and I'm really hoping that B:I is as good. Though I can't see how the atmosphere can be as good, as Rapture (where B1 and B2 were set) is a fantastic setting for a game, but B:I's island in the sky type setting seems less immersive and more generic. Still, they amazed us with Rapture's setting, and perhaps they'll amaze us again. For that reason, I've avoided most of the previews/videos, as I want to experience the game from a new and fresh perspective.
I'm also hoping the new Aliens game is as good as the first AvP, though my hopes aren't high as I bet it will concentrate more on set pieces and scripted sequences than on gameplay . And I'm really hoping that GTA V turns out to be like San Andreas (which I love), and not GTA IV, which I detested. And I'm really looking forward to Half-Life 3, which hasn't even been officially confirmed as existing, but is thought to be released in 2013 to co-incide with the launch of Valve's new games console.
Having to wait for these games isn't exactly brilliant, but one of the great things about gaming is that you can always play your old favourites whenever you like, so even if these four games take much longer (which is fair enough), or turn out bad (which they all can't, at least two out of the four should turn out to be great) then I can still play Bioshock 1 and 2, San Andreas, AvP (the PC version from 2000), Half-Life 2 (and 1, and Opposing Force, all of which are fantastic), as well as all of my other favourite games, on the N64, XBox 1, XBox 360, PC, etc.
The point is, mate, don't feel like you've let us down, because you've not. We don't mind waiting for you, or Goldeneye X's authors, or Half-Life 2's authors, etc, to release the mods or games, and in the meantime we've got loads of great games to play. As long as you enjoy making your GE levels then great, and we look forward to playing them, but don't rush them at the cost of your own time, and especically not your health. And if the headaches continue then (seriously), you should see a Doctor. Years ago I started getting headaches, and it turned out I needed glasses. Now, if I don't wear my glasses all the time I get headaches.
And unfortunately, unlike Bond, my glasses aren't X-Ray! Still, maybe in the future |
