To start. I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing. I've read through and tried to do simple editing, yet I'm not fully gettin it. So, before I even explain, as per the forum goes, if this is topic is in the wrong spot, please re-direct me. |

It should be in probably the Q Lab Hacking forum. Welcome, anwayys! What have you tried doing (what are you trying to do?). Simplest to start is probably make a new level, insert a start point and a prop, and press F7 to quick inject into your Quick rom (set in prefernces). |

Thank you. Seems like a pretty cool site btw. Big fan of Goldeneye and Rare in general. Well, I wanted to start out small. I've figured out the visual editor...pretty easy. But I can't seem to figure out how to convert my "edits" into the rom. For example, in the first level, DAM. I wanted to start off with a DD44 instead of the PP7 (Silenced), and gave the Russian Commandant an extra DD44. That's it. Simple. Now...how do I insert that level into a rom? |

The easy way, is set your quick rom in the preferences. Then press F7 after opening yout level and editing it, and it will save it to your quick rom name+.rom to name. If you want to do it the more complx way, can use Tools->21990 and inject the saved setup file. Let me know if need more help. |

Shibby. Ok, let's say I want to create an ammo box. Not sure how to do it in visual editor, but how do you choose what ammo is inside? Also, in the 2nd bunker level, the safe. How do I set the locks etc. It says locks - 00100000 and 00100000...how do I know which key is what number? |

If you go into the Edit Objects menu, found under Edit Setup, and choose the 04 Key type from the list, you'll find the various key items used in the mission. Each one has a specific use for it. To the middle right of the menu window, there is a field that says "Locked Door Tags" above it. This value corresponds to a door, or multiple, that requires a key to allow players to open it.
Now, the Bunker ii safe is a special case, as it takes two keys to open it...
1st Key: 00000010
2nd Key: 00000020
If you look at the very last entry in the 01 Door list, you'll see it is the Safe Door. The Locked Door Tags on it are the sum of the two safe keys...
Safe Lock: 00000030
The options in the Visual Editor for locks are very basic, so you may want to use the Edit Objects menu for this sort of thing.
------------------------------------------------------------
For the ammo crate, right-click where you want to insert the crate, then highlight "Insert 00 Object", and choose one of the five ammo crates from the list (0003-0007). Once inserted, go into the Edit Objects menu, and select the 14 Ammo Box type from the list. There you can edit not only the type of ammo the player receives, but how much.
The Edit Objects menu will allow you to do certain things the Visual won't. _________________

First save each of your setups uncompressed. Tools -> 021990. Then in the Stage Setup tab, on the bottom there's where you choose a file. Find your file, and inject into the ROM the file, then repeat for next one. Write ROM when you're done. |
