Hi
I'm wondering how to insert text into a PD rom. I've edited the needed text but it never converts/injects to the rom.
For cameras, I have a action block sample that works but it sometimes fails to load the level because of it. Here is a sample of the action block: http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff97/punk-7890/Untitled.jpg
I'm really not sure why it loads and works sometimes but other times it doesn't load the map. |

I have been having this issue as well. It seems that different versions of the editor work with other things better than others. The newest editor seems to not update the text menus in GE but the previous version does. I'm testing an additional level for a mad Im working on right now. Seems I've maxed out either the ROM or Im even wondering if a windows updated F*cked up my redistributables or something. It is a complete mystery bro. COMPLETE.
Wait for Subdrag. He can tweak these things. I'm in the duh zone too  |

Injecting text, just make sure the ROM you write to, is always the one you use for your quick ROM, or project if using project mode.
You could try adding a couple 03s in the beginning, sometimes those sort of things need 3 of them first. Try that first. I had to for mine. If it fails or just instead...
You can use the 00DF command, to switch camera to a 2E Object (16 object reference to it).
00DF PP??02???? where PP = 16 Object of 2E Camera. The 02 indicates type is 2E camera point. Set to 00s for now.
Example is:
00DF2F00020000 Switch Control to Camera, Move Camera to 16 Object (2E) (2E)
Where 2F was the 16 object there.
I've never tried the way you did there, but is interesting, though I don't know why crashing.

Thanks Sub!
All I had to do was add about 4 03's and it works. The only thing stopping me from uploading a level to Goldeneyevault is the text still. I can't seem to make it appear in game. It's all on my same ROM (or is there a separate way to inject text?) that I use for my levels. |

I am looking forward to the new level! Can you tell me the steps you are doing to make your level? Are you using project mode, or quick inject, or 39850? You make your text file in Text Editor, then export to .bin. Then, inject the text file into a ROM, in 39850. That ROM you write, make sure it is your source for your ROM you quick inject/project mode/39850 inject. |

Ah, you choose your level you are editing in the combo box. Then it'll have a name, like UsetupshoZ for the setup. Take that sho name, and then search for it, in formula LshoZ. Then inject into there. I should try and make that more obvious in 39850. |

Perhaps it's possible to make it so when you are scrolling through the levels in the combo box, add another cbox which would hold the LxxxE file and have it directly correspond to the level like so -> http://gyazo.com/4214235ae6c865d03a8ece55c49d89ff The same could be done for GE*...  _________________

When I do that and change the setup file to LearE it freezes the map and doesn't load any text. |

Is it possible you're using text that exceeds your smaller bank? Like in objective or briefing text? |
