A lot of people may not know that there once was an N64 mouse being produced by Nintendo that was packaged with Mario Artist and the 64DD. Of course, with the DD itself being rare, so would the mouse.
I came across a video of someone playing various games (Wave Race, PilotWings, Doom, Mario Kart, etc.) with the mouse. The part of the video relevant to this forum begins at around 10 minutes in where he begins to play Goldeneye and Perfect Dark with the 2.4 Goodhead configuration, with the mouse in the first controller slot and the actual N64 controller in slot two. He complains about how the sensitivity of the game is slow and, worst of all, unchangeable, in addition to the lack of control customibility.
Would it actually be possible to use a Gameshark to change things like the look sensitivity and other things he pointed out in the video? Thanks for reading! |

A mouse and controller? Heh, that's how I try to play all my first person games!
Anyway, I'm sure the controls can be changed, just someone needs to look into it. ... I can't do it, it's likely beyond the scope of "Equal to" searches. Though, at least the Start button issue could be solved with the Activator codes, assuming they're the same for each level. _________________

I've made several patches for my own to adjust the sensitivity for the GC-Style N64 controllers but never went too far with it. I can confirm it's possible to modify the X and Y sensitivity individually, but not sure if it's possible with Gameshark codes.
He's using a really small space to move around though, which makes me wonder if it'd work better with the proper area to move the mouse around. _________________ You can't win.

If anyone sets anything up, it should be N64 keyboard plus mouse. Controller and mouse, or mouse alone doesn't make sense. Almost no PC games other than adventure games were mouse only... |

Well, you're right if we're talking N64 Controller + Mouse; it doesn't offer as many buttons as an XBox/PS2 style controller would. However, I'll argue to the grave that FPS games work really well with a controller in the left hand and the right using a mouse. Stick movement and mouse-look feels great to me. But to argue that, we'd have to be talking about an XBox/PS2 style controller and/or a five-button mouse, while also requiring the FPS in question to allow full input from both the controller and mouse simultaneously. Only Source games like Half-Life 2, etc. are fully compatible like that.
... Uh, but to bring myself somewhat back on topic, I bet Kirby Air Ride would work decently enough with its A and Stick only controls. _________________
