How does one combine maps? Are there any gotchas I need to watch out for? I just got off from vacation and want to put both of my multiplayer maps into one patch. |

Yeah, you basically just need to have all your custom textures in one ROM, and your two level backgrounds setup to use those correct image IDs. You would load the custom ROM in the Game Configurations menu, and replace the necessary level files with your new ones under Stage Options. That would include setup (mpsetup), background and clipping. You will also have to update the memory allocations and sky block data (if that exists for the level being replaced). Update the level names in LtitleE file, and you could later replace the level select photo in Image Tools. Save and test.
Multiplayer is a lot easier than missions to combine into a single ROM, since there is no text to update and other potential issues to deal with. |
