I plan on writing something geared towards Goldeneye later, for now give Hellbringer's tutorials a try:

http://articles.thewavelength.net/section/31/

Those were the tutorials I used when I was first learning to map for Half-Life and they're some of the easiest ones I've ever followed. You can ignore anything related to entities and the like since they have nothing to do with mapping for GE.

It's done: Download

Wreck: I have to apologize, I completely forgot to credit you for fixing the texture issues. In fact, I forgot the entire credits section of the readme. Embarassed

Wreck, how did you fix them? I'm curious because I might be able to fix the editor to.

Great work btw Dragonsbrethren. I'm very excited about this whole hammer thing. Can you give us your feedback on ease of use, etc? Also, any ideas about the rooms thing?

It would be cool if we could play the SOURCE versions of the Goldeneye map, like Facility for instance.

We could possibly remake those maps, but those maps contain a whole lot of custom geometry and hi-res textures making a direct port impossible.

Just played your mission Dragonsbrethren - excellent!

I have a feeling that this is the start of something new - spanking new missions with that classic GoldenEye feel. Supurb! Very Happy

Oh mr threadstarter can you please post some more pictures of the solo mission (the new rooms, guards etc) and maybe a video of you playing through it. I wont be able to ever actually play this level but to see it would still be really great! In ten years of owning this game, Ill see brand new levels! Smile

I can't record a movie, the programs slow my computer down too much and make the game unplayable. Maybe someone else would be willing to though.

Okay, I'm guessing everyone who wanted to play this has had a chance so here are screenshots of the entire mission:

Intro camera showing the helicopter and guards on the roof. This was almost the photo used in the mission select menu but I figured something from inside the office would make more sense.

Bond in the intro. I kind of wish I had changed the intro block so he wore the blue suit instead of his stealth gear.

This guy walks out into the hallway shortly after the mission starts and attacks you.

The storage room. The guards sneak in here to watch TV while on duty. Laughing

Peaking into the other office through the tinted window in the storage room. Someone must've let a fly in, it's obviously getting on that soldier's last nerve.

The other side of the commandant's office.

The meeting room. No shots of the shotgun-toting, heavily armored soldiers in here, they'd kill me if I tried taking their pictures. Razz

Blasting one of the roof soldiers point blank with the shotgun. Yes, I'm using Wreck's blood mode code.

The ending scene where the chopper takes off.

My best time so far. I think I set the cheat time a little too high. Note that this time was set on a separate playthrough, I never would've been able to get that good of a time after taking so many screenshots.

One thing I can't show in a screenshot is that the level's music is the unused Runway X track.

This was an excellent mission, and it's even better considering it takes place within a completely new map. Anything that requires changing, or whatever you want to modify for personal reasons, could be done in your updated version with the separated room models. I just hope we can get everything worked out alright, in order to improve the performance and appearance via emulation.

I think it's amazing how quickly Dragonsbrethren made the map. It's very good for a first ever mission/multi map created by the Hammer editor. The future is looking brighter!

I finally got around to making a movie, turns out Hypercam records at full speed if I play in a 320x240 window:

I need to register to get rid of that watermark though.

Edit: Just realized someone else made a video of it:
