I don't support tga, only bmp. Also, your level needs to be split into rooms.

I didn't use any tgas, only bmps.

And in how many rooms has my level to be split?

Your mtl file has tga, if you look inside it, I'm sure.

You are right! Very Happy

I already changed it - but now another error message appears:

"Error converting bitmap"

I think this one appears because the picture doesn't have 256 colours.
And I don't know how to convert. When I try it in Microsoft Paint, then this happens: Sad Shocked

don't use paint for this. it can only do non palettized 8bit color.
use something else, like IrfanView. Whatever you use is bound to be better than mspaint.

Thank you, I imported all bitmaps now.

But now I have another problem: one room doesn't want to be imported?

All rooms are imported into the GESetupEditor well, except this room. I tried all things to import, but it won't show in the editor.

EDIT: already fixed, I imported this room from hammer again.

Now I've got another problem(?).

Portals: do I need portals?

When I do Auto-Portal, some portals appear on strange places...

Will my level start without any portals and if not:

How can I insert portals?

Without portals, you won't be able to see between rooms. Auto-portal always worked pretty good for me, so I'm not sure what your problem is.

You can force global visibility, but that'll slow down the map as much as not having any rooms.

When I do Auto-Portals, the portals are not there where the windows and doors are. They are even outside my building.

It uses clipping to determine portals, so you'll have to add those manually since no clipping there.

OK, this is the solution!

I have clipped almost my whole level, except the vent, so that I can fall down like in facility.

I just finished the spiral stair.

I used Auto-Portal now, and it made a better job. But it makes too big portals and too less. (Some doors don't have a portal)

And some portals are misplaced, again.

Should I resize the portals and insert portals where no portals are?

Auto-portal is only supposed to be a first step, the rest is alas manual. Add portals, set room one and room two of each, resize, move, etc.
